Being the alpha of a wolf pack isn't aways easy.
Kalgorn had never wanted to be the alpha. The few wolves in the pack had, for some reason, decided he'd be the best choice for the positon. It was a mystery to him why they did, but there was no one else to take the position, so, with very little choice, he took it up.
There really wasn't much to the pack. It was a small group of just seven wolves who had stuck together after the brutal battle that split their once thriving pack into three different paths. It was, really, the only way they could survive. For awhile, just only days after the battle, Kalgorn and the six other wolves had to struggle for awhile until they were able to find a new location to settle in. Constantly traveling and lack of food wore them down. Slowly, but surely.
He supposed it was how much he helped keep eveyone alive and going that made everyone want him to lead them. He wasn't exactly very strong or particularly skilled in fighting. But he had a strong spirit.
He was currently sitting down on his haunches, looking down at his reflection in the surface of the water. He barely recognized himself. It'd been so long since the last time he'd looked at himself. He was alot thinner from what he remembered. Also, his eyes seemed to have become a brighter shade of green. His fur was slightly longer, and he'd grown quiet a bit.
He really didn't know what to do. He had been the alpha of this pack for a long time now, and all that had changed was they had named themselves. The Aris Pack. It ment nothing, but soon would be just as memerable as The Eurand Pack.
He knew, in order for their pack to grow, they needed to have pups, which would be the first generation of wolves to carry on the Aris Pack name. But there was nothing he could do about it. Until their numbers grew, the name Aris, was just another name for something insignificant.
